Weaving Tecnique
The weaving of Pirot kilim is equal and smooth and of a great density being one of its basic characteristic. It has two identical “right sides”. When a kilim has been woven it is spread on the

- the tablet (the border around the whole kilim in several colours, 10 – 60 cm wide, most offen white or yellowish coloured), framing the field.
- the field (the middle and the widest part of the kilim) which is as a rule the most beautiful part, too. The whole kilim is called after the name of the pattern in the field.
- The edge (called “inner ćenar”) framing the field, hemmed by coogs or hooks. The bigger kilims have even three inner egdes.
